How I Work
I am a Humanistic Integrative Therapist working towards building a co-created relationship that is honest, confidential, mutually respectful, non-judgemental in a secure setting. As a therapist, compassion and acceptance are foundational values for my work. My approach to counselling is a holistic, ‘client-centered approach’ . You bring your own unique life story, influenced by your family of origin, relationships and experiences. By exploring, reflecting and questioning, co-creating a therapeutic space where we work together to unravel and assess with awareness what you bring and discover new possibilities promoting change and growth through choice.
I draw from my own life experiences and personal and professional development and utilise many different theories and practices, including the following:
Person-Centred Therapy
Building an honest, confidential co-created relationship, the core of the work, where the client is central to the work
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Exploring how our thoughts affect our feelings, behaviour and attitudes and through interventions w can change our thought process.
Psychoanalytical/Unconscious Process
How our past experiences affect our present life and living.
Mindfulness Practice
Focus on being intensely aware of what you're sensing and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment.
Gestalt Therapy
Focusing on the present and understanding what is really happening in your life right now, rather than what is perceived to be happening based on past experience.
Solution Focused Therapy
Exploring solutions, setting goals and working towards these through awareness and choice.
Internal Family Systems
Just like our external family, we also have an internal family made up of different parts, getting to know these is often key to growth and change
Attachment Theory
Focuses on the relationships and bonds between people, particularly long-term relationship
Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT)
CFT aims to help promote mental and emotional healing by encouraging people to be compassionate toward themselves and others. Compassion is an emotional response believed by many to be an essential aspect of well-being, including those between a parent and child and between romantic partners.

What you can Expect
Sessions are typically 50/60min. A comfortable, quiet setting provides a therapeutic space to do our work. In our first session, you’ll have the opportunity to share your story and give voice to the concerns that bring you to counselling. From there, we will look at your expectations of the therapy and discuss some achievable goals and outcomes. We will work with some with useful tools that can help you to make changes and manage your life when in difficult situations.
Spontaniety is part and parcel of the therapy space so while we will explore what you
bring, we will also explore the root causes of, then moving toward changes that will allow you to again thrive in greater ways.
If you have any questions before booking your first session, please feel free to call.
